Let me tell you something about…
My work, inspiration and process
Inspiration hits when you don’t expect it… and sometimes it doesn’t come at all. That’s why the best method for me is simply to start. It’s also the clearest way to describe my creative process. Once I begin, something will emerge, or I will decide to shift in another direction. I often start from an intuitive chaos: a weird association, situation or play on words. Something that seems normal at first, but doesn’t quite add up on closer look.
I search for hidden things and how to make them visible: The soul of a person, a system or an object. Sometimes this happens intuitively, sometimes by breaking things down and rebuilding them.
Another recurring theme is warmth, or its absence. Perhaps because I often feel cold, or because I love to bask in the sun. But what I’m really drawn to is warmth that seems just out of my reach: hidden behind words, under a blanket of fear, or some other emotion.
