Elizabeth II – Charcoal on paper, september 2022
A lesson by Yvonne Zomerdijk at Lucas Gilde. Following the previous exercise, in which I worked on a small scale from a newspaper photograph, this time we enlarged the image and worked on a much larger sheet of paper using charcoal. The drawing is based on an original commemorative newspaper clipping published shortly after Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in September 2022. The page featured a comprehensive timeline of her life, capturing her at various ages.
